…..Friday’s “Mystery Meat”…..A map doodle…..

~ Attention. Here’s an update on tonight’s dinner. It was veal. I repeat, veal. The winner of tonight’s mystery meat contest is Jeffrey Corbin who guessed “some kind of beef.”~

This week I was working on a surveilance system at one of our companies, while I was waiting for my helper to move from camera to camera, I doodled on my legal pad. I drew a side view map doodle, experimenting with the regular fill and a rock & dirt fill (Thanks Dyson…!!). It’s not much, but it is kind of interesting…and it was fun to do. I am such a dilligent, hard working employee…:) It is also a peak into another concept map I am working on….

Geomorph-41 (Set-7)

This is the fifth geomorph in the village set, nothing too spectacular. A few homes and hovels, at the bottom is a house with a stone fence\pen, with a gate….whatever you need it to be. Enjoy!

Geomorph-39 (Set-7) Out of Scanner Hell

Well, I got my scanner issues resolved, there is a reason you shouldn’t try to troubleshoot software\driver issues at 2am, you forget the basics and make “stupid” mistakes. Anyway, here is the next geomorph in the village set. The lower right corner has my version of a blacksmith, above that is a ruined building, and in the upper left corner a really, really, large well. I didn’t realize how big it was compared to the buildings, till just now. Opps….oh well.

My Scanner Driver\Software is all Jacked-Up!!

I went to scan in some more of my new village geomorphs last night and ended up till 2:00 am trying to get my scanner software\drivers to cooperate to no avail. I’ll be working on that tonight when I get home from ye olde second job. If I can’t get it working again, I’m off to buy a new one. Just when I finally get back to posting on a more regular basis….scanner hell strikes. Life goes on….stay tuned.

…..Friday’s “Mystery Meat”…..Biomech Artwork

~ Attention. Here’s an update on tonight’s dinner. It was veal. I repeat, veal. The winner of tonight’s mystery meat contest is Jeffrey Corbin who guessed “some kind of beef.”~

I’ve been working, albeit slowly, on some new “Village” geomorphs and some other goodies recently. I just didn’t get anything done to the point where I am ready to post them yet. I was looking for something to post for the Friday “Mystery Meat” when I came across some old drawings of mine. During the early 90’s I went through a biomechanical phase, these are a few of my favorites from that phase. They really don’t have much to do with the OSR or mapping, but they are kind of cool, perhaps even inspirational to other twisted minds like myself.

This piece was intended to be the shoulder\arm of something…..just turned out to be interesting all on it’s own.

This one is some biomechanical “devices” designed to be hanging down from anything. The web was just something I was playing around with on the same page. The “claw” image in the center is one of my favorite images.

This image is just twisted, but unique, and a just a little disturbing when I think about it. So I try really hard not too.

This one is the beginning of some biomechanical chamber to keep a human inside, screaming in silence to get out.

About this blog

This blog came into being after I discovered the OSR blog scene. I was inspired by Dyson Logos and his blog, specifically his geomorph project. Check out his awesome work: "Dyson's Dodecahedron" The style and the simple elegance of his 10 x 10 squares put me on a mapping roll. I have blatently (...and respectfully) emulated his style and now have pages upon pages of geomorphs. Along with more location specific maps in that same style.

My intent for this blog is for it to be more than just maps and geomorphs. However, for now, I'm just enjoying this burst of creativity inspired by Dyson and the entire OSR community.
