…..Friday’s “Mystery Meat”…..

~ Attention. Here’s an update on tonight’s dinner. It was veal. I repeat, veal. The winner of tonight’s mystery meat contest is Jeffrey Corbin who guessed “some kind of beef.”~

Here it is, just past midnight on Friday night and I’m finally getting something posted for the Friday “Mystery Meat”. Sorry about the delay, and the general lack of posts the last few weeks, been working a lot of 14+ hour days. Anyway, been toying around with some outdoor\village geomorphs (Thank you Vlark for your suggestion of houses and hovels)  Here is a test run for your viewing pleasure.

“Life is what happens to you, while you are busy making other plans.”

That’s a quote from a dear old friend of mine. It’s why I have not been posting much lately, day to day life has just been kicking me in the arse as of late. Posting on my blog became a low priority and I’ve had very little time for creating. I do feel like I have to keep posting the weekly “Mystery Meat” at least. This week is just some sides and corners for geomorphs. I had these mostly done awhile back, just finished up the corners and cleaned them up for posting. Click here for a full page PDF.

Welcome to yet another edition of Friday’s  “Mystery Meat”.  This week brings us Arkayne’s Dungeon. I’m pretty sure I did not draw up this on. Judging by the lettering I think this is a dungeon designed by my brother, Russ. It’s really old, and very “Old School”. But how can you go wrong with a “Torcher Chamber” and a “Leather Uniform Room”. To me it’s a lot of fun finding these old maps and looking them over, it was all about pure imagination and fun.

Geomorph (Set 6)…..The Hive…..

I’m finally getting around to posting the complete set 6 of geomorphs “The Hive”. I’m definitely going to revisit this set, with some more stuff later. Click Here for a full page PDF of the set.

Geomorph 36 (Set 6)

The final geomorph in set 6 “The Hive”. This is the Queen’s Chamber, it has a large entrance chamber for warrior guards and rises above the main level. Several more guard chambers are very close by on the main level, and once again the lower level has more worker chambers. I had contemplated putting a raised platform inside the queen’s chamber, or even another chamber for the queen within the large one. In the end I decided to leave it as a blank slate for you to fill it in yourselves, according to your vision. This was a fun set, and I might have to make some more to add to the set. I have also started to create a race of “Bugs” just for these geomorphs. Once I get the sketches done, I’ll write some stats and post them too. Hopefully soon.

PS…..I kind of like the way the whole chamber, on it’s own,  sort of looks like a large bug.

About this blog

This blog came into being after I discovered the OSR blog scene. I was inspired by Dyson Logos and his blog, specifically his geomorph project. Check out his awesome work: "Dyson's Dodecahedron" The style and the simple elegance of his 10 x 10 squares put me on a mapping roll. I have blatently (...and respectfully) emulated his style and now have pages upon pages of geomorphs. Along with more location specific maps in that same style.

My intent for this blog is for it to be more than just maps and geomorphs. However, for now, I'm just enjoying this burst of creativity inspired by Dyson and the entire OSR community.
