…..Friday’s “Mystery Meat”…..

~ Attention. Here’s an update on tonight’s dinner. It was veal. I repeat, veal. The winner of tonight’s mystery meat contest is Jeffrey Corbin who guessed “some kind of beef.”~

Under the Gun, long story short, I couldn’t get to this today….but wanted to get it in while it’s still Friday. Oh well, I was close, anyway this week’s “Mystery Meat” is some side and corner pieces for Dave’s Mapper , he’s asked me to make some corner and side peices to add to the mapper. So here you are Dave. Sorry to everyone that was looking for the “Mystery Meat” today and it wasn’t there, just was too busy working, and I totally forgot about it being Friday today. So I whipped this up kinda quick and tried to at least get it posted before the day was out. Later I will try to break these apart into individual JPG’s like the rest of the geomorphs I post here. I also need to clean up a few things….like a stairway that isn’t supposed to be there, and a few minor things. Here’s a Link to the PDF file. ,

UPDATE: Stairway issue fixed.

UPDATE: Right side tile blocked entrance fixed. Hats off to PseudoFenton for catching that…..I must be slipping..:)

These are great, but could you post the individual graphics instead of a compiled PDF? I made a local copy of Dave’s Mapper to run when I’m not online (my main computer is not connected to the net so that I can actually get work done!). Having the individual PNGs or JPGs would be a boon.

Evidently, I have a reading problem, because I didn’t catch the part where you wrote you’d be posting the individual files later. Feel free to ignore/delete my first comment and this one.

Yes, I will be posting the individual graphics as well…..I was just trying to get the Friday’s “Mystery Meat” post done while it was still Friday….They should be on-line tomorrow. Thanks for the compliment and for visiting my site.

The right side capping tile has its lower left entrance blocked off, is this intentional?

Otherwise good work! I’m glad you’re producing the ‘capping’ tiles for Dave’s Mapper as they’re very handy to have and I prefer the hashed and bold lines of this style of map (and so far there are few tiles like this for capping purposes).

Also, would it be too much of a pain to request a solid hashed tile, ie nothing but ‘rock’?
It may seem odd but it’d allow me to use it as a background for making my own tiles on a computer rather than by hand. I can then cut out key features from the rest of your/Dyson Logos maps and throw them together for specific important areas like for boss fights or generic corridors/capping tiles so the maps can seem together easier.
This will no doubt be boring for you, but I can’t work out another way of doing it whilst keeping the map tiles themed the same, thanks ever so much if you can!

About this blog

This blog came into being after I discovered the OSR blog scene. I was inspired by Dyson Logos and his blog, specifically his geomorph project. Check out his awesome work: "Dyson's Dodecahedron" The style and the simple elegance of his 10 x 10 squares put me on a mapping roll. I have blatently (...and respectfully) emulated his style and now have pages upon pages of geomorphs. Along with more location specific maps in that same style.

My intent for this blog is for it to be more than just maps and geomorphs. However, for now, I'm just enjoying this burst of creativity inspired by Dyson and the entire OSR community.
